- The maximum weight capacity is key to narrow down which is your best paddle board option.

- If you are a beginner you will  want to explore several paddling alternatives. Most people shopping for their first paddle should be looking in the all-around board, where SUPs are designed to do many things well but not overly focused a specific paddling type.

- The tail is one area  where the outline shape is a key factor. An all -around board with a  rounded tail, or with a flat tail with slightly rounded corners will provide the best balance and performance. A board  that has a very narrow tail will feel less stable. Thee best boards are those with double seams and reinforced PVC exterior. They should also have a high PSI (lbs per square inch) range.
