Everything you need to know about choosing, using, caring for, and enjoying your Ripple board.

Choosing a board

Helpful starting points for selecting the right Ripple setup.

What type of paddleboard is best for me?

That depends on your skill level, where you plan to paddle, and how you want to use the board. All-around boards are the easiest place to start for most paddlers because they balance stability, versatility, and ease of use.

What are the advantages of all-around paddleboards?

All-around boards are stable, approachable, and flexible enough for cruising, light fitness, casual exploring, and beginner use. They are often the best fit for paddlers who want one board that can do a bit of everything well.

What is the difference between inflatable and hard paddleboards?

Inflatable paddleboards are easier to store, easier to transport, and ideal for people with limited space. Hard boards can feel more rigid on the water, but they are less convenient to move and store. For many everyday paddlers, inflatable boards offer the best balance of practicality and performance.

How stable is the paddleboard?

Stability depends on the board’s width, shape, and intended use. Wider all-around boards tend to feel more stable and forgiving, especially for beginners or relaxed recreational paddling.

Using your board

Answers for getting on the water with more confidence.

Can I use the paddleboard for different activities, like yoga or fishing?

Yes. Many paddleboards are versatile enough for more than one activity. Features like deck space, attachment points, and storage bungees can make a board more useful for fishing, yoga, or longer outings.

How long does it take to inflate an inflatable paddleboard?

Inflation time depends on the board size and pump used. With an electric pump, many inflatables are ready in under 10 minutes. With a manual pump, it is often around 10 to 20 minutes.

Can I take an inflatable paddleboard on rough water?

Inflatable boards can handle a range of water conditions, but the right board and the right conditions matter. Always paddle within your experience level and follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for use.

Can I repair a puncture in my inflatable paddleboard?

Yes. Most inflatable paddleboards come with a repair kit. Small punctures can usually be repaired by cleaning the area, applying the patch correctly, and letting it cure fully before use.

Care & storage

Simple habits that help your board last longer.

How do I transport and store the paddleboard?

Inflatable paddleboards can be deflated and stored in their bag, which makes them much easier to transport. When storing your board, keep it dry, clean, and out of prolonged direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.

How do I properly deflate and pack away my inflatable paddleboard?

Remove the fin if needed, open the valve, and roll the board from the tail toward the valve to push air out gradually. Once fully deflated, fold or roll it neatly and place it back in the bag.

Are inflatable paddleboards as durable as hard boards?

Quality inflatables are built from durable materials designed for repeated recreational use. As with any gear, long-term durability depends on care, storage, and how the board is used.

How do I clean and maintain my inflatable paddleboard?

Rinse the board with fresh water after use, especially after saltwater trips, and let it dry completely before packing it away. Check for wear regularly and store it clean and dry.
