Construction

What exactly is double-layer construction?

Double-layer construction is a proven technology with well over ten years of market presence. These boards are built for long-term durability and are typically more labour-intensive to produce, which is why they sit at a more premium level.

One of the main differences between double-layer construction and lighter alternatives such as fusion and single-layer construction is the thickness of the top and bottom deck. Double-layer construction is roughly 2.2 mm thick, compared with about 1.4 mm for fusion and about 0.7 mm for single-layer construction. That is a major reason for the difference in weight, feel, and long-term durability.

Inspired by place

Named after Moraine Lake

Few landscapes are as iconic to the Canadian Rockies, or to Canada more broadly, as Moraine Lake. Its unmistakable turquoise water, fed by glacier melt and framed by the Ten Peaks, makes it one of the country’s most memorable alpine settings.

We chose the name because it reflects the same sense of beauty, clarity, and memorable outdoor experience that the board is meant to carry onto the water.
